Today (Oct 28th 2009), WSJ has an article talking about cultural beliefs in numbers in the property market.

The recent sale of a condominium in Hong Kong for $56.6 million, apparently a residential record in Asia, sets the backgroud of this article.

The 40th – 59th floors in the same building are missing. So after the the 39th floor, it jumps to 60th floor. The top three floors are called consecutively 66, 68 and 88! This sure ticks off those methodical and meticulous people’s sense of order. I must say that this can be amusing, confusing or both, depending on which angle you look at the scenario.

If you are interested more in this area, I suggest you read my earlier post, “Numerologist Expert Talks About Cultural Beliefs on Numbers”

You may wonder, how come the SAME numbers may have different meanings to different culture? Aren’t numbers, like music, pretty universal?

When the buyer for a property is Chinese (be it Chinese from China, Hong Kong, Malyasia or Singapore), I always suggest them to end their offer with a few “8″s for “prosperity.”

Reason? “8″ is a homophone for the word of wealth and properity.

So FOUR provides an orderly framework for such a discussion with practical issues that interest them all.

I’ve covered from 5th Feburary to 8th April so far. Participating this course has driven me close to 2 weeks behind there. I’m catching up there within this week!

The idea is to have ”365 Great Days in 2009“.

The numbers from your birthday are the strongest indicators for your inborn personality. However, we still pretty much need to look for additional clues from your birth date’s month and the year to get the complete picture, together with your most often called name. Consequently, over there is a broad brush comment in the absence of the birth month and the year.

Pure Numerology aims at practicality in helping you. As such, I do present it to both entertain and challenge you, rather than solely making you feel good. The purpose of life is to fulfil your destiny to realize WHO you really are. YOU are beyond personalities, which happen to be the most important tools you have in this life to reach self-realization. Getting rid of what you haven’t got in the first place.

The 2009 series of Pure Numerology blog there is about the characters that you are born with, one for each day of the year. The 2010 series will cover one of your Life Paths (Karmic Lessons) that you’re destined to learn and follow this life time.

In life, it’s not so much what cards we’ve been given, it’s HOW we deal with them that matters more. Having said that, I do not emotionally enjoy doing readings on “extremely negative” personalities.

I’ve come across too often “positive” personalities that behave badly and “negative” personalities that are so empowering and beneficial to others’ lives.

So the tip is this: AVOID hone in too much about the “positive” or “negative” aspects of a personality. It is what they DO that counts most, irrespective of their birth dates and their “potentials” or intentions. Moreover, “Nothing is good or bad. But thinking makes it so.” (William Shakespeare) There are always great discrepancies between intentions and actions. New Year Resolutions is a typical example. By now, most people’s 2009’s Resolutions are already dead and buried in their memory lanes far far away or long gone deep in their history files.

I do need to point out that there are serious challenges facing those who are born on 2nd, 3rd, 4th …. 9th WHEN their birth month ALSO corresponds to their birth day. e.g. 2/2 (or 22/2), 3/3, 4/4 …….. 9/9. This is even more so WHEN they do NOT have any “1″s in their birth year or decade. e.g. not having a birth year as 1911, 191x, 19×1, 2001, 2011 or 201x, where “x” is any number .

To ignore the “dark side” of those aspects of personalities do no one any favors. To evolve and improve, we need to change. To change, we need self-awareness. To have self-awareness, we must be open minded enough to question, to doubt and to challenge any understanding of our usual and habitual thinking and feelings. These are all prerequisites to overcome any issues in life.

Even though we are NOT our bodies, NOT our minds, NOT our personalities, they are still the most important tools for us as human beings to overcome our life challenges. As such, we need to understand the NATURE of our body, our mind and our personalities. Pure Numerology acts as their simple but effective pointers.

Ironically enough, it NOT because of their birth dates that they have such & such characters traits and destinies. It is the other way round: BECAUSE they choose to (free will & karma in action) go through the learning curve of certain Life Paths (Karmic Lessons) that they have particular set of numbers (as revealed in their birth dates) to govern and to reflect their destines & personalities. This is the result of the way they exercise their free will in their previous lives. While we are having this PRESENT life, we continue to create our own new karma – good or bad – UNTIL we manage to break the vicious cycle.

Check it out over there: www.john-ho.vox.com

If you want to learn Pure Numerology NOW & expedite the learning curve or want to know yourself or love ones better, then either enrol into my Pure Numerology courses or have a personal reading done.
