A few of you ask whether I had videod my FREE talk last Tuesday evening. The answer is no. Now here comes the reasons (or the excuses, depending on how you look at them.) I understand fully how valuable it will be in terms of exposure and even selling it for a few bucks for interested party to download.
Main reason for not videod it yet is I want to get my debut talk itself right first. Chewing too much from this beginning is not a good idea, sometimes. And of course, this is one of those times 
)
Based on the fact that it’s my first ever talk, I am quite happy with the delivery quality and reception it received.
I need either a good camcorder that has also a built-in feature to directly download to YouTube to avoid painful frustration & time wasted in the transfer or a Flip Video Ultra.
There is no Flip Video available in Australia. And it’s supposed to have NO warranty if I buy from overseas (say US) to use it in here.
I know its sound volume is not crash hot but the unit is so easy to use: just turn it on, point & shoot!!! Plus easy to upload to YouTube, which is a great time saver!
To have a good enough (let alone professional standard) video on a talk which involves writing on a white board, instant interactions with class participants, me moving around physically all through the presenation and not having a video/audio person around to help out is … for the time being, asking for a disaster. And I am no audio/visual person too.
I need to start somewhere for sure… So let me think, Think, THINK and do, Do, DO.

I do think you can get there with video. It’s not that hard.
If you buy a camera that records onto hard disk for instance, it hooks into your computer like anything else and then you can edit straight from it in Movie Maker (which is really quite easy to use). I wish you were closer, I could show you in ten minutes! My video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1C73fHAdAUM&feature=channel_page (whilst it didn’t have any video footage because of my own camera problems) was made in about thirty minutes of editing time (the hard part was getting the images).
Sound is the biggest issue you will face. So buying something with good sound and testing how you set up so that we get to hear you is really important. Go on John, you can do it!

John i just bought Kodak’s answer to the flip camera. it has one button upload to youtube and it’s dead easy to use. has a flip usb stick for downlaods and more features than flip for about the same money.
