Numerology Expert Is Tossing Around Niche Market Suggestions

Thank you for your additional thoughts on viable niche markets for Pure Numerology.

Christian Haller suggests to use it to “screen potential employees/partners/etc”. Yes, I’ve thought of that. The strict privacy law in Australia prohibits potential employers pry into age (and hence birth dates, but not birthdays though) or even marital status!

Yet, psychometric tests has become popular with large companies to screen and select their prospective employees.

If I choose the automated path to computerise the Pure Numerology readings, then what Rob Northrup ( $25 Father’s Day gift), JJ Jalopy (Compatibility test for young girls) & Pat Becker  (baby naming) suggest would work like clock work. But the break even point is not there until I run tens of thousand of such readings. Unless of course, I fudge like the bulk of the “suppliers” who simply cook up juicy texts and randomly match up with the person being analysed. Naughty Duane Cunningham has basically hinted on such snake oil salesmanship.

Pam Schulz  suggests to videotape the workshop. I’m thinking about that seriously. I need to buy a video camcoder and work out its operation and logistics behind the filming using a tripod. I would broadcast the free intro but make the videotaped workshop as a billable item.

    You need to go the book/CD/Video route and then to brand yourself as the “go-to” guy fornumerology. You should offer your services to celebrities or to the magazines that gossip about celebrities for free to brand yourself as the “Numerologist to the stars”.

    Think Jeane Dixson or Louise Hays.

  5. John, Have you contacted a students in multimedia – or whatever they call these nowadays? Students are usually quite passionate about their craft, often have really good kit, and may be willing to do a great job producing the video for you for a lot cheaper than you think (especially if you promise free beer and pizza at the end of the workshop :-) ).

    To make it a win-win – on top of beer money – you could draft and agreement whereby they could use part of the recording for their portfolio. Just an idea…

    Get a book published and write articles and then have an accessible route to personal consultations on your site.

    To start with I’d suggest keeping your price very low in exchange for testimonials; once you have a group of testimonials from people that you can promote and the authority generated from your book(s) you can charge much more.

    Pricing is a tricky balance, because people will perceive the information to less worthwhile when they pay less for it; however, if you word it carefully (and explain this is simply an introductory / trial price for your first X consultations) people will feel they’re getting something valuable at a great price for a reason.

    Just don’t give up. There are some tremendous minds here to listen to. I like the ideas that Duane and Steve put forth. Also, you could go to festivals and have a booth. I am talking about music festivals, art festivals and the like. In the states, I know people who do this a make a killing during the summer months.
