I’ve just read Philip Graves great article “Words Don’t Mean What You Think”. He said that “Researchers in Canada have just published the results of some work they conducted looking at language used on cigarette packs. …. 84% believed the pack with a number 6 in the brand name would be less damaging to them than the one with a 10 in it.” How interesting that a lower number can have such an effect in the mind of smoker consumers. Back in 2005 when I was managing a computer branch of 17 staff, I asked them to guess how many pieces (between 1 -10) of sandwich or cakes were originally in the box I held. If they were correct, then they could choose & had a piece. Almost ALL guessed it was 7, which was incorrect.

Now here’s another hint WHY even twins with much similar, if not identical, personalities, do have DIFFERENT behaviour based on different data their human brain computers are getting:

Same stimuli + different perceptual instruments + unique neural networking = different data

Twin most often do NOT get IDENTICAL exposure in their life, do they?

“Numerology Expert Says A Good (Revisited) Question from Darryl Pace”

Most of you would know that I run two blogs about Pure Numerology – Understanding Personality for Better Influecne & Persuasion: One is here, the other is www.john-ho.vox.com.

Over the other (Vox) blog, I’ve just finished answering a good question from Darryl Pace, which I think it’s worthwhile to reiterate below.

Hi Darryl,

This is a GOOD question!

People with the same personality or same birthday or birth dates can have different behaviour due to their exposure to different environments, both in upbringings as well as their current settings.

Behavior is a function of personality & context or environment. SAME personality or the SAME person, will behavior differently under different context.

Whether a person is more of an end result of his or her upbringing environment including the people he or she is exposed since birth or it is more of an inborn nature is controversial. To me, it is not a black & white issue, but with grey areas.

No doubt, however, we do get influenced by the company we keep, both by the physical company well as of mental ones that we keep.

I have been absent from here for about three weeks. But I have been religiously writing up the Numerology Expert Birthday Numeroscope almost daily at my Vox blog over there.

Today, I deliver a Pure Numerology reading as a birthday present to a friend’s son at a party. Since we forget about his birthday, we come along unprepared with any present and mistaken the gathering as an usual type.

Then his mum asks for a brief reading on her other son. A sales lady at the party also asks for a quick reading.

After the party is over and we are back at home, my wife has a business idea. Why not get hostess friends to organise “Numerology Briefing Parties” for me? I’ll give them, say, a 30% cut of whatever I make in that party plus give them a FREE 30-min reading on someone of their choice. This not only let myself known to more people, but also it might line up coaching opportunities and corporate gigs for me, let alone that would give me the chance to do more presentations. I can also let them all know that I am a real estate agent who might be able to help them to buy or sell properties.

Multiple exposure!

This is a similar concept to the current “Gold Party” which has become popular in Melbourne, Australia. The gold dealer gives 10% value of the gold jewelery he buys in the party. The high gold prices, together with a softening economy, encourages people to sell their holdings to get cash in a fun way.

“Numerology Expert Revisit What’s In A Name From Another Angle”

Last two days, Michel Fortin blog about the troublesome Entitlement Mindset that some people have when they steal or highjack well-known people ’s name. The latest case he talked was someone pinched Larry Winget’s name in Facebook: “Did Larry Winget Go Overboard?”

Michel’s point was not so much about the user name itself, but about the intention behind it.

Well, after reading this kind of Facebook incident, I promptly checked mine, not that I am famous (yet), but out of curiosity whether my name is still intact.

Guess what? Last night here in Australia (23/6/2009 12:01 am Australian EST) I spotted something strange. When I signed into my Facebook a/c, it brings up someone else’s face and his friend list. But when I clicked on the “Home” & “Profile” icon, it’s still me & my friends!!

Ok, I just try again right now at the time of writing this, such abnormality does not exist anymore. So, I suppose it’s Facebook’s glitch yesterday. I hope such hiccup stays away from me (and you) forever!

As at the time of writing, I’ve went back to my son’s birthday (12th June) at my Numerology Expert Birthday Numeroscope to:

(1) Put the photos of the celebrities in as from that day;

(3) Put in the quotation marks to enhance the impact of the “headline”.

This gives a new look to the blog over there by being more visual and more easily stir up emotions as well.

Numerology Expert Says He’s Taking Kevin Hogan’s Professional Speakers’ eCourse, followed by his Writer’s eCourse

I’m now taking Kevin Hogan’s Proferssional Speakers’ eCourse for the first time. Then followed by his Writer’s eCourse.

I use both to bring my knowledge in Pure Numerology presented in a better way and with better coverage to you all. The theme still bases on “Understanding Personality for Better Influence & Persausion”.

My new skills would further enhance the 3 “E”s in my personal branding motto: Enthusiastic, Ethical & Engaging.

Meantime, remember to check out my DAILY Numerology Expert Birthday Numeroscope and put it in your Google Reader. I’ve been posting daily on that blog and reduce posting here down to four times weekly.

Up to this day, however, I’ve been commenting DAILY in all my friends’ blog whenever they have a new one posted. They are all in my Google Reader for easy tracking, reading and commenting.

Because of my participation of the Professional Speakers’ course, I need to wind the reading & commenting down to minimum 4 times a week. So there’ll be some time delay. But rest assured that I would read thru’ every new blog post & comment every one of them.

Numerology Expert John Ho Shoots Himself at His Foot by Being Precise & Terse

I always wonder why Numerology books are so wordy. For what purpose do they need to cover the same aspect of reading in hundreds of different ways? All those fillers and made-up anecdotes.

Thanks to witty JJ Jalopy, his current blog explains the “WHY” by referring its readers to an article which pretty much answers my persistent guess on verbosity of articles & books.

People asks me how long does a Numerology Reading last? I say that it can be as short as three minutes and as long as they like. And that’s for a FULL reading. It all depends on the client’s level of understanding. But people don’t drink honey out of the jar without dilution, do they?

Unfortunately to people like me who have only few words to say (lol), people in general love bulk and quantity. That’s a reason why “All You Can Eat” type of places are never that short of patrons even though their qualities is dubious.

Everytime, I rack my brain for the precise & terse analysis presented at my Numerolgy Expert Birthday Numeroscope. You would be surpised how much time it takes me to do each of those short posts. There are hardy more than 50 words unique for each day, apart from the important but lengthy Standard Disclaimer present for every post there.

In the article that I mention above, it talks about the pre-1990 commercial publishing world supported two lengths of manuscript:

the five-page magazine article, serving as filler among the ads
the book, with a minimum of 200 pages

Suppose that an idea merited 20 pages, no more and no less? A handful of long-copy magazines, such as the old New Yorker would print 20-page essays, but an author who wished his or her work to be distributed would generally be forced to cut it down to a meaningless 5-page magazine piece or add 180 pages of filler until it reached the minimum size to fit into the book distribution system.

My suspicion is now verified.
